Matthew is a passionate, dedicated educator and special education consultant located in the Bay Area of California. Matthew is celebrating over 10 years in Special Education as an Education Specialist, Case Manager, and now Program Specialist with school districts and county offices of education. Matthew currently serves as a consultant to charter school districts and families around the state of California providing targeted consultation and guidance for special education programming, professional development for teachers and administrators, as providing facilitation and mediation where the relationship between schools and families are strained. Matthew is student-centered, seeking to support families and schools with the best possible outcomes for their students.
Matthew holds in BA in Broadcast Media & Journalism from Gonzaga University, a M. Ed with a focus in Special Education (Mild to Moderate Disabilities) from Boston University, as well as a M. Ed in Organization & Leadership with the California School Administrator Credential from the University of San Francisco. Additionally, Matthew is a certified conflict coach through Conflict Coaching Matters and is a trained facilitator and mediator through the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University.
Matthew is a clear communicator, an adaptive and flexible educator and consultant, and a leader within the field of education both locally and throughout the state.
On his free time, Matthew enjoys hiking, gardening, having a great glass of wine, spending time with his partner and their two black labs Otto and Poppy, and being anywhere near water!
